Will it work with my camera?: DSLR Assistant works with over 50 Canon EOS DSLR and mirrorless cameras, from the EOS 40D to the latest EOS R bodies. Find your exact model on the camera list.
How does it connect to the camera?: With a USB cable, plugged straight into your Mac. See Connect your camera.
Do I still need Lightroom or Capture One?: Not for shooting. DSLR Assistant covers the tethered session itself — controlling the camera, reviewing and organizing shots. It isn't a RAW editor, so for editing, keep using whatever you like; your files are ordinary RAW and JPEG files in a folder.
Where do my photos go?: Into a library folder on your Mac, named by your own pattern. Nothing is uploaded. See Where your photos are saved.
Can I use two cameras at once?: Yes. Connect both, then pick the one to control from the camera menu in the toolbar. A time-lapse or bracketing series keeps running on its camera while you work with the other.
Can I show Live View on a second screen?: Yes — click Auxiliary Window in the toolbar and drag the window to the other display. See Focus and compose in Live View.
What does DSLR Assistant cost?: It's free to download, and the free version isn't time-limited. Pro is available monthly, yearly or as a one-time Lifetime purchase — see Pricing for what's included.
How do I cancel my subscription?: Through your Apple Account, not inside the app — see Manage your subscription.
